- Smiley, on his real name Andrei Tiberiu Maria, was born on 27 July 1983 in Pitesti city from Romania. He graduated the Art School at the Popular Arts High School Dinu Lipatti, the classical guittar department and the Foreign Trade Faculty A.S.E. .
As he said in many statements, was born in a warm afternoon in July and he had a beautiful childhoodeven he was a restless full of energy child. The life he had untill 10 years was a normal one. After this age the pleasure for listening music became the pleasure for singing. In the 10th grade he started to make music on computer because there were many ideas that had to be in a way implemented. The music virus is now through his veins, said Smiley in a statement about himself.
Traveling, movies and the games are his hobbies.The favourite quote for him is Smile, tomorrow will be worse.
In his career he was a member in the Millenium 3 band, untill Gyuri Pascu noticed him and helped him to release an album. In the same time, Smiley became a friend of his fellow band: CRBL, Omu Negru, Piticu, Francezu.
At the proposal of CRBL in 2001 he was at an audience at the record house and joined the Simplu band. After this there were dancing and singing rehearsals and he met Marius Moga who was very pleased by the new formula of the band Simplu.
His scene name, Smiley, was given to him because he is the responsable one with the good mood. After the Simplu experience he started the collaboration with the tv station Pro TV, for the series With one step forward, where he has the role of Seba, a talented former student, the best in the school that frozen the year because some drug problems.
In 2008 was released In my absence, the first solo album in Smiley's career, a material that reflects the life experience. The album includes two song categories: for soul and for dance, both very cool and exciting.
For the ten songs included on the album Smiley worked with Marius Moga, Don Baxter and Randi. This album brings many surprises. A featuring with Don Baxter, after the successful collaboration with Uzzi for the mega-hit In my absence. This album is adressed for a mature audience and has beautiful songs.
