Gheorghe Zamfir, the genius who created Once upon a time in America soundtrack


Gheorghe Zamfir is a composer and a virtuoso pandean pipe player who was born in Gaesti, Dambovita county, Romania. He is also called the King of panflute, taking the applauses from people worldwide.


Gheorghe Zamfir is the man who can modify the technical construction of the panflute, introducing this instrument in all the styles and genres of music. He is revolutionizing the sound and brigs the sound to a universal scale, bringing the panflute in to the attention of the whole world.

 
Also, Gheorghe Zamfir created some famous soundtracks for movies that are still a cinematographical masterpiece.

 
Movies lik "Kill Bill", "Once upon a time in America" or "Karate Kid" are playing in backgroud souds of Zamfir's panflute.

 
"1987. Rome asked me through Ennio Morricone and Sergio Leone to record the main theme from the movie that was going around the world as a masterpiece of cinema: 'Once upon a time in America'. The experience was unique, the panflute participation in the unfolding action being major, creating the impact the filmmakers desired. My intervention created the emotion that made this movie one of the most viewed from all the world", said Gheorghe Zamfir about his participation in creating the soundtrack "once upon in America", in his autobiographical book, "Blessing and curse".


Today, the artist delights the people around the world with his natural born talent for playing the panflute.
