Gheorghe Adoc, Romanian sculpturer

 From all of his works, the most representative is The Independence Statue from Iasi, located in the market with the same name. It was unveiled in 1980, and was a project that belonged also to Gheorghe Adoc's wife, Gabriela Manole-Adoc.

 

The statue created by Gabriela Manole Adoc and Gheorghe Adoc was a part of a project from a national contest in 1975, for the commemoration of 100 years from the Romania's independence proclamation in 1877.

 

Gheorghe Adoc most known works of art:

 

-The tribute board situated at the entrance of the Academia di Romania from Rome, Italy. The board represents Decebal and Traian and was created in 1968.

 

-The Onisifor Ghibu half length portrait from Nufarul district in Oradea, Romania, created in 1998.

 

-Gheorghe Pitut half length portrait from Beius city, made of bronze with 0,75 meters. It is placed on a pedestal of 1,80 meters

 

-The Eminescu-Slavici monument from the Putna Monastery.

 

- Mihai Viteazu, Nicolae Balcescu and Alexandru Ioan Cuza busts who were a request from the Department of Foreign Affairs. These busts are now located in the capitals of Argentina, Chile and Columbia.

 

Nowadays a street from Jimbolia city from Timis county, Romania, has the sculptor's name.
